  1.  Bones McGillicuddy  "Can you stay in business if you turn down every guy " the whole point of that story is that the guy is not servicing that car at all and that is why his engine is dying and taking oil in the first place... so how the shop gonna have any problem for not taking this client if he is a client that is not ready to pay in the first place? The proper answer to the first question why the oil change is killing engine that was not maintained properly is fact that the new oil have in it chemicals that have cleaning properties(and the old oil do not), all the stuff that would normaly be removed from the engine with every change of the oil+oil filter are left inside and with new oil they are flushed out and then there is too much stuff floating in the oil so new oil filter have no chance to remove it from the oil before some metal shaving gonna end up somewhere where it should not. If you gonna try to flush the engine during that oil change there is also big chance that all this crap inside seals the engine and again -> the engine was working ok before you changed the oil... I heard a story about oil change in case of state owned companies in Poland, before Poland left communism block in 1989 there was period of time betwen 1981-1989 with martial law and huge problems with any access to new engine oil or oil filters so many companies were not changing oil in vehicles for many years. Then in 1989 there was no problem with geting newoil and oil filters so companies changed oil in all its vehicles in the exact same time and two weeks later the whole fleet was dead... heh
