@jackb8682 "Why are you calling it steel ? It's cast iron..." I know very little in the topic but you must be soo pro to know what is exactly in that steel just from this video... LoL And yes it is a steel, they were mostly trowing into furnace some low and medium carbon steel so there is no chance that the final product have more than 2% carbon(and why this is important you should know Mr. Internet Expert...).

@realcritical-kr2dd The whole comment how amazing was the old stuff and new is just is crap is simply complete bs, new engines from Toyota are machined so well that when you changing first oil you can hardly find any particles of metal->something imposible to achieve with tools visible in the video... The guy have no idea what he is talking about, he is confusing planned obsolescence with modern machining tools that are controled by computer because they need to produce super precise stuff. Every tool have its error and in the case of tools that we can see here that are used to measure stuff and cut the error build into tools is much bigger than stuff that cost milions of dollars and is used in best car companies. In both cases this guy will be very limited by the hardware and skill can help with that only slightly. You not gonna be able to build modern jet engine with this type of tools and make them as reliable as they are nowdays. First jet engines were so well made that they were lasting for only 20 hour of work or less... Modern car engines can push out of small car size engine as much power as it was avaible in huge marine engine in the old times and no they will be not less reliable that the old less stressed stuff->as the old stuff would not be able to handle as much pressure and heat as the new stuff... 100 years ago nice car engines were 8, 10 or even 20 liters of internal volume and producing out of that 100-200 hp when nowdays you can have that power in 1liter engine.

@dxcommander "However if a person is expecting a replacement part of similar specification to what they were copied from"->they are not coping mercedes, RR, or John Dere engines... this are most likely for Belarus tractors from MTZ in Minsk and the fact that the tractor name is the same as the country tells a loot. But in the same time you are right plenty of people trying to see here something else that it is->old technology for old engines that are not used in rich countries because how inefficient this engines are(not to mention lack of any modern day ecological technology in it that is alowing people to not live in big cities completly covered by smog).

You can use lathe for work on something else when this machine is doing its job.

In some places imperfections are important in other are not and here all the "holes" are in places where they change nothing so why should they bother when this is just a part for a tool not a piece of art?

@mostafa3288 They have constantly problems with lack of money and failing value of their money so i would be surprised if they do not print(extra) money to fill the budget holes...

@zerra_toys3494 И в том-то и проблема, Россия больше ни с кем не может конкурировать, даже с ними...😅

@martyzielinski1442 You can give you car to shop with people that do not folow proper procedure and in the end you gonna end up with broken car because someone worked HARD on it instead of working smart... No one is working so HARD on a crank shaft nowdays in USA because the value of the work would be so high that the cost of production would be bigger than the value of the crank shaft... it is not a scam it is "mass production" and thx to it everyone in USA can have a car when in the old days when all cars were hand made(HARD) they were so expensive that only very rich could own a one... modern car factories did not fall from sky, someone was working HARD to build them and in the end make stuff people want for price that people can pay!

@toussaintlouverture5149 "their roads are not like here." Good point and another very good reason to use steel rims...

@ls6097 "You can't provide a single reason why that wheel is any less "safe" " the explanation is in the video if you understand anything about this metal/alloy.... if you do not see it then trying to explain it via writing it will be even less successful. Simple explanation is that you can not tell how much weaker that rim is now after all that bending, heating and unwanted oxydation...

Как и в Советском Союзе, когда еще что-то производили, потом это была скользкая дорожка, особенно когда вашим заводам приходилось конкурировать с западными...

@dcw56 heh, yea its 2022 so its time to start using your brain before writing comments in internet. Your whole comment would be good match to some American dude that is trying to do that crankshaft in his garage and your theory then could have some logic. But here you are commenting guy that made thousands of jobs like that and he is doing this again because clearly it works... but you refuse to accept this fact and pretend to claim that its not posible that it can work. It is not how scientific method works my friend and yea even 120 years ago scientific method was a thing... You can take 3 examples of AR-15 from 3 different producers and if you gonna start mixing parts from them there is good chance that the created frankenstein not gonna work(will be the junk that you were writing here about). In the same time you can take 3 examples of AK-47 made not only in different companies but in 3 different countries and mix the parts together and there will be no problem with working of that weapon reliably... And i am thinking that it is similar story with the engine that this crank shaft is made for, i can bet that it can handle this lack of precision that you are complaining here about, maybe you will be forced to replace engine oil and filters 3 times after every 100 hours of work when the engine is new but with time it gonna stop polishing its bearings and will be able to work reliably. And even if you will be forced to replace bearings after only few months i can bet that the owner not gonna have any problem finding a guy that will be able to drive to him and do that in his place and he not gonna pay much for his work and time...

И в конце концов, они все равно работают лучше, чем постоянно пьяные россияне, которые либо продают то, что спрятала под землей матушка-природа, либо то, что <одолжили> у соседей...
