@CommanderRiker0 "Combine that with having that port open it has to be close to zero." watch the video again... this time with understanding...

@Un_Pour_Tous are you paid to act that clueless or is it natural? and funy how mant commenters clearly pretend that they did not watch the video -> researched already gathered evidence that most distributions are happy to execute your code with root access...

"So, this isn't actually" This is actually reading comprehention problem... and NO you can use printer without access to the internet... so you can use this exploit in internal network via different machine that is conected to that machine via intranet conection.

@randykitchleburger2780 Did you watch the video? and what type of firewalls is disabling your printer ports by default? and no you do not need to be CONNECTED DIRECTLY... and btw. how many paid comments we gonna see here?

@rayjaymor8754 "I was expecting this to be" right, because hole for remote root access to a machine is not serious issue... and attacker do not gonna use more than one machine or indirect attack.

If I'm understanding it correctly someone is pying you to pretend that you do not understand the topic or you have ZERO understanding of the topic...

@dansanger5340 It is almost funny how many people believe that attack on your network can only use one step, one exploit and be only direct...

To give someone remote root access to your machine... isn't that obvious?😅

That hole was made to give remote root access to the machine... you can use more than one exploit for a single attack... and no, u can use it without need to have a direct access to the internet on that machine...
1
@entelin "While the remote exploit value of this would be limited to bad setups" You literally have zero prove of that... on top of it that it contradicts what this video is saying... and NO, you can use more than one exploit in the same attack and u can use other machine from local network for it...

@musashi939 Worst thing about linux are the people on forums that are constantly writing off-topic stuff just becase they can... can bet that you also love to answer to questionswith your own question "why doit the way you want to do it when you can do it differently/my way"...

Printers are not the issue...
