"knowing how to inflict harm with your sword but actively choosing not to" Inventor of AIKIDO was teaching sword techniques only in some schools, some legit students of Ueshiba will gonna tell you that swords are not part of AIKIDO... The whole lets not do harm is your choice yes but there is no problem to make a cripple out of smartass that thinks that AIKIDO is all about "OH FUCK OH FUCK DON'T CUT ME BRO", if you are good enoght to play arround with guy and show him that he is no match for you then you do it, then people in internet will gonna say that this looks unreal for him because he is watching MMA and in his mind that how "real fight" lookz like. There was movie with Ueashiba and some USA military police guy that didnt want to do what Ueshiba was asking so he used one finger on him and he ended on the ground and then sudenly he was ready to "cooperate" and lisen what he is teaching. The guy in this movie is talking that you using someone else momentum and in the same time babling that Segal was good because he was a big guy. Ueshiba was small as hell, he was so small that he needed to fake that he is taller to get into Japan army, he was hanging from tree every day for two month with with extra weight on his feet to get few more centimeters during drafting check and all that so he can go on fcking war with China. But yea guy with attitude like that must be inventor of fake ineffective dance not a real martial art...

  2. "And any combatives that rely on "defense" will get you killed." its not only "defense", from 6th DAN up you are supposed to make attacks that forcing your oponents to react/attack. Also your statment have any truth to it only if oponents have similar strenght/skill where there is huge disproportion then its not the case at all. Best example is USA vs Japan war, USA was waiting and doing nothing and in the same time they were fully aware that Japan fleet is comming(USA cryptologists was able to read Japans communication, Australian fishing cutter saw whole fleet on its way to Perl and reported that to USA, small sub was sinked by US destroyer when he wanted to get into harbour hours before actual attack, planes was dettected by radar... and propably much more fck ups by Japan that was proof that Japan gonna do its move) and how that ended for Japan? Also when you directing your force in one direction then you becoming weak for attack from another side, flanking your oponent is sign of good commander on battlefield and also good AIKIDO master. So in the end i would say you know nothing about AIKIDO or battlefields!

  3. There was no Aikido in "the Samurai" time first idea of Aikido was born in Ueshiba head during some sword duel yes but it was XX century and samurai times was long gonne!

"AikiDO is a way of enlightenment not a "martial art"" what a BS, AIKIDO in martial art is not a SPORT, and its like that exactly because making it sport like for example Karate made out of it twisted and uneffective martial art. Inventor of Judo said about AIKIDO that its perfect Budo and best student of Morihei was sended to him by inventer of Judo after he made allready 6th DAN because he was small guy and in Judo size matters in AIKIDO not in fact smaller guy have even advantage in AIKIDO and big size of Segal was for sure not helping him in avoiding of using strenght instead of skill/proper technique.

  5. Friis Tappert many best Aikido students of Morihei Ueshiba got allready black belts of Judo, karate you name it. So get any proper information about topic you trying to talk about! Morihei didnt hasitate to show black belts of any martial arts that they know nothing about Aikido and how effective Aikido is. I was training Aikido that came to Europe thanks to student of Morihei that was Karate black belt and 18 or 19 years old, he watched presentation and then during diner said to Morihei that he see no chance to stop good zuki punch with Nikyo lever, so you think what Morihei told him? Try to hit me then ofc and black belt karate attacked him and for two weeks after that he got problem to hold chopsticks in that hand and after he was student of Morihei for next 20 years... Hirokazu Kobayashi was his name!

  6. Morihei Ueshiba would tell you propably the same thing that he told about Tomiki Kenji that he didnt get what AIKIDO is and you dont as well.

  7. Some schools was using swords some using staff so you dont know as much as you think(Morihei Ueshiba was in some schools not using swords/boken at all).
