"that is a perfect explanation! " there is huge difference betwen hydraulic and pneumatic. Water have density much bigger so its kinetic energy is also much bigger(in that pmeumatic example its not important). Water cant change its volume so easly as air, so whole movement around ship looks completly different. When ship is sinking he is sucking huge mass of water behind him and if someone is in the water near massive sinking ship he is in huge danger because that moving mass of water gonna suck him below surface and it can be imposible for him to swim back to surface before he is out of oxygen. On the bottom that moving mass behind ship also will be causing "hydraulic outburst".

On the animation iceberg fragments ripped from main body of iceberg going down for no reason, thats the topic of the comment... And ice in glass of water is as smart comparison as this idea of ice sinking from this animation. Ocean is water+salt=more density=>iceberg/ice(made from water and some air traped in it) will be floating much better in ocean...

MaiCohWolf "was pretty good" yep, but its not "perfect", It would be interesting to see some real simulation of what was going on and how all involved forces was ripping apart that ship. Like visulisation of exact structural parts that was not able to resist to forces involved and where and how they were working in every stage of this disaster. Sadly they showing here animation that looks like something made for fabular movie. Instead of realistic colors of the exterior i would love to see internal structure with all beams and stuff like that colorized depending on tension and so on, whit deeper analyze what was causing what.

"This footage was shown all day long for weeks" because it was rare... ;)

Its not like you need significant amount of light to make pictures of something that is not moving...

"The hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), or hippo, from the ancient Greek for "river horse" (ἱπποπόταμος), is a large, mostly herbivorous mammal in sub-Saharan Africa,"
