"No doubt this was the subject of numerous long debates at Armatix." No doubt you must be thinking that Armatix was a state owned company back then...

@nicholaspatton5590 One of the first things that Adolf changed in German law when he and his party was elected into power in Germany was the change in the law to restrict access of normal German citizens to the fire weapons... The official reasoning behind it was that it was done for security reasons and we all known that was just an excuse to make German citizens defenceless against all the other stuff that came after that. And this is standard procedure by any dictator/party that is up to no good. The same story was in communist states, from one side service in communist army is made by the law mandatory for every healthy man in that country and from other the private ownership of weapons is highly restricted and highly controled. Because of that for example in my country Poland there is very little guns in private hands and in the same time government have full access to info about your weapon->projectile with the scratch paterns that act like a fingerprint for every riffled fireweapon are recorded by the government->like it is done in USA only for weapons that were used in a crime... also your local Police will be making decision if you can own the weapon and they can say no just because the police officer do not like you or have a bad day...

@drworm5007 "Yeah because we all know locks are 100% worthless unless they are 100% invulnerable." yea because we all know that if the thief opened your lock and took what ever was secured with it then the lock fulfilled its purpose in 99.99% as it was working for years and failed only for few seconds... The same story with this mechanism, that from one side its sugesting that only one person can use it but in reality its not true. So if someone gonna use magnet to commit a crime with it then you will gonna have 100% chance to explain to the police how it was posible and there will be in the same almost 100% chance that you will be nowhere near that gun at that time to actualy see it and by doing so be able to answer the question...
