"PTRD was developed few years before the war" no it was not, only way you can say that it was developed few years before war is when you notice it is using scaled up Polish Wz. 35 anti-tank rifle locking mechanizm and Soviets was able to put hands on it because in semptember 1939 they attacked Poland hand in hand with Germans thats why they were able to "develop" it so fast!

and based os someone else work(you forgot to add), locking mechanizm is a rip-off from Polish Wz. 35 anti-tank rifle... That in Italian manual made after they Italians tested them got up to 50mm of penetration (rifle much smaller and not so heavy).

@borbo23 "The Soviets had no plans to invade Europe in the time leading up to WW2" Yep you are totally right, the plans was to invade the whole planet! Thats why there is whole Earth in State Emblem of the Soviet Union, State Anthem of the Soviet Union in that time "Stand up, damned of the Earth (...) The world is about to change its foundation... Chorus This is the final struggle Let us group together, and tomorrow The Internationale Will be the human race ..." And ofc there is this organization: "The Communist International (Comintern), known also as the Third International (1919–1943), was an international organization that advocated world communism. The Comintern resolved at its Second Congress to "struggle by all available means, including armed force, for the overthrow of the international bourgeoisie and the creation of an international Soviet republic as a transition stage to the complete abolition of the state"." But yea you are totally right! It is just silly to think that they were all about invading other countries. They didnt for example try to conquer Poland in 1920 over two years before official begining of the crapy Soviet Union, its also not like the whole WW2 was designed in Moscow with this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov%E2%80%93Ribbentrop_Pact

@anatolymarmeladov8895 "Poles also created Earth" Nope that is Russian speciality to say that they invented something that they didnt. For example every Russian gonna tell you that they invented vodka. In the same timefirst written mention of vodka in Russia is in a list of things that you bought from Poznań(heart of Poland at that time). Not to mention that you teach kids about Great Patriotic War to hide fact that for two first years of WW2 you were German ally...

"fast made wepon" yea because most important and complicated to design thing in this type of construction is the bolt and they simply used scaled up bolt of Polish Wz. 35 anti-tank rifle(thanks to the fact that they started the WW2 with Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact 51% of Poland for USSR 49% for Germany...).

PTRD design was copying Polish anti-tank rifle not German, it was using scaled up bolt of Wz.35, so yea typical soviet design(steal what ever you can without paying license fees...).

Polish soldiers in USSR was equiped with PTRD-41 in 1943 so its common knowledge here that you got inspiration to make that riffle from wz. 35 not only from Panzerbüchse 38 as we can read in wikipedia. Germans was your best ally back then so noone was shoting Panzerbüchse 38 at your tanks, wz. 35 anti-tank rifle on the other hand... 43 soviet tanks was destroyed and most of polish soldiers was figting with Germans not with Red Army that came to the fight as late as posible to have it easy and lie that you have nothing to do with this invasion(but secret Ribbentrop–Molotov Pact parts are not secret now...).

PTRS is "literally exactly" upscaled Polish Wz.35 anti-tank rifle, you need very strong locking mechanizm for this type of rifle and they got hands on one thanks to the fact that they invaded Poland with Germans in 1939...

@doctor-atuti heh, Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr(15.9 kg (35 lb), 18.5 kg (41 lb) loaded with the bipod) = 13.2 x 92mm -> only 26mm (Penetration @ 90°) at 100m where Wz. 35(10 kg (22 lb) (loaded)) = 7.92×107mm DS -> 33mm of penetration at 100m and angled target(up to 40mm of penetration was posible according to the manual). You need to have zero understanding of the topic to think that Wz. 35 is a rip=off of the Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr...
