Its not a LMG that whole setup is 32kg/70lbs... it was designed as "medium" MG.

And ofc it have nothing to do with this video about MG that was produced in much lower numbers( 10 345 ). Also Soviet were wasting so much money on military because they were dreaming about world conquest... State emblem of Soviet Union have whole planet under the infamous hammer and sickle. When typical Soviet worker was not able to not only buy a car but even a bicycle the counry was wasting all the money on weponds and training of German soldiers in Kama tank school (German: Panzerschule Kama), Lipetsk fighter-pilot school and gas warfare facility, Gas-Testgelände Tomka... To this day Russians are not ready to admit that they planed and started WW2 with Germany!

When you are on the wrong side of the MG42 then that rate of fire looks propably much more efficient than on some youtube video...

@anttieskelinen1 its 32kg with tripod... its called medium mg-> clearly not for one person to cary. And i can bet that there is no need for sandbags because it is Finland not Texas when most of the time they are shoting in desert like sand with zero chance for any sand compaction even if you would try to use proper compacting equipment to do something with that.

It is why soldiers in that time was carring this type of heavy mounts. This tripod is 40 pounds of steel and i can bet that the ground here is compacted well contrary to the typical site in Texas that is full of desert sand that you simply can't compact.
