WW1 era 7.92mm is in most cases instant death for the guy that gets it so why you would need the 13.2mm? To overpenetrate him even more and also your neighbour walls?

@elkpants1280 Yea and Red Tide army is so pro that they officialy stoped using footwraps in 2007... 2007 the year when Russian army invented socks. LoL

And your Soviet wonder is based om Polish Wz.35 that Soviets got after they invaded Poland with Germany... and even German army was already using it as "kb ppanc wz. 35" when PtrD was not designed yet.

@upcycle.outdoorsman9629 "Initially, the SC ammunition was used, only the powder charge was increased and various types of nitrocellulose powder were tried . The tests were carried out on an experimental stand, using standard Mauser barrels. After using progressive gunpowder and a new DS projectile, the test stand achieved an initial speed of about 1300 m/s." That is translation from Polish article in wikipedia about Polish Wz. 35 anti-tank rifle. So i can image that the German anti-tank rifle was also not using slow burning powder as it got even shorter barrel than the Polish rifle...

As it was inspired by this and Polish Wz. 35...

Its not based on wz. 35 it is overcomplicated German atempt to make something as usefull as Polish rifle was in 1935-1939. Soviet rifle from 1941 is based on Polish rifle and they also most likely got a look at German rifle as huge part of Poland that they got)over 51%) got plenty of German-Polish battles on it an Germans were forced to give it to the USSR because that is what they signed in secret part of Ribentrop-Molotov pact in Moscow one week before this two started the war.

@elkpants1280 Polish Wz. 35 won as the Soviets got more than half of Poland from a deal that they made with Germany one week before the war and when Berlin started invasion Moscow informed Berlin that they are not ready... so in the end plenty of Soviet work was done by Germany also on Soviet part of Poland and thx to that they were able to get Polsih rifles and German rifles left behind or captured by Polish forces during that campaign. Polish riffle was from 1935, was simple, not as heavy and was using very effective and also simple muzzle break. In 1935-1939 there was no German tank that could not be penetrated with it and Polish soldiers often were aiming for turret ring as hit there even from longer distance was often able to jam the turret and without ability to rotate the turret the tank is losing 90% if its utility.

@dren4k And PTRD was Soviet atempt to improve Polish Wz. 35 anti-tank riffle as they captured plenty of them when they invaded Poland hand by hand with Germany... of now they love to play dump and deny that the document that effectivly started the war was signed in Moscow one week before the WW2 started(that is also thereason why they do not teach in school about WW2, they teach about "great patriotic war" to hide the truth about two first years of the war. And yes Polish riffle was from 1935, lighter, cheaper and more reliable and effective. Able to damage all the German tanks from 1939.
