This object elliptical orbit is very flat so there is huge difference in speed during this body travel, its moving super slow when its far awey so any boost in speed when it is close to the Sun gonna give it more energy to fly awey even further where influence of the sun gravity is super small and that is why they predicting this 1.5x longer period, so far awey even small change in speed gonna do huge difference because it already have almost enough energy to leave the Sun for good. If you want "better explanation" then find proper video or article about it or go and play game Kerbal Space Program. ;)

@oldmandoinghighkicksonlyin1368 He did not said anything about NASA... so why u writing all that excuses that we need decades of preparations? Just use kickstarter and lets do a challenge like they do with Mars rovers. People that suported the project on kickstarter can then choice team or teams that gonna use the money to do it 10 times faster than NASA.
