What's their electoral system?
1
@onlyMetalisMusic Non of that is the electoral system. Are we talking first past the post, with single member constituencies? Are we talking some kind of proportional representation using multiple multi-member constituencies? Is the whole country a single constituency? How is the votes turned into seats? The Sainte-Laguë method? The D'Hondt method? The Hare quota? I care far more about how people are elected into the legislative bodies then about how many you have. Because that determines the dynamics between the political parties. I'd you mainly have a few big ones bullying the small ones, nor does the small ones act as pretty much equals to the big ones? Are there multiple paths towards a majority or do you keep having to figure out how to make a specific combination work because there's no other alternatives to get a majority? Is the majority shifting through the term or is it a fixed one for the duration? Is it enough to just not having a majority voting against you, with abstains being ignored, or do you need a majority in favour of a bill to pass it? See what I mean? They usually at least present if a country has proportional representation or first past the post etc.
