@marekj1100 So does Iceland where things are also fairly free with few restrictions but more testing and tracking of cases.

@axl4r Lockdowns have been tested before and are known to work. If they're the best approach or not is of course debatable, but that they work isn't. As for Sweden having a holistic approach, no, not really... There are countries that like Sweden has remained fairly open like for instance Iceland where the main step taken against the disease is extensive testing and contact tracing and has managed to successfully fight the disease, statistics from countries like that seems to be more promising then the lock-down approach. But Sweden hasn't done either. Extensive testing or extensive contact tracing or extensive lock-down, one of the three has to be used to defeat the virus if high death tolls are to be avoided. Sweden hasn't done any of those. Some countries tries to do as much as they can of all three. But testing requires lab capacity and components. Contact tracing only works if the percentage of the population infected is low or if their privacy is invaded, and lock-down has significant penalties for both the economy and peoples personal freedom. The exact mix of the three that's ideal is of course yet to be determined and is being tested in countries around the world.
