1:02 That's not too bad, you can see a whole block away. With some spiked winter tyres and experience with driving on slippery roads (part of the education needed to get a drivers licence in my country) this shouldn't be a problem at all. 1:23 Oh dear, salt might not be a good idea in these conditions. Salt is more for when you just have a little bit of snow or ice and need to get back to the ground. Here you should use gravel with just a little bit of salt mixed in to allow the gravel to melt into the snow/ice for a better grip. Then again, that might wreck havoc on those snow plows... Honestly, I'm not sure what our snow removal and gravel spreading services recommend...

@jorgeboyas8712 Salt actually makes the overnight ice *worse*. What happens is that the salt mixes with the snow and ice lowering its melting point, so it's a liquid at a lower temperature. But changing state also requires energy so the salt-water is actually cooled down by the salt. The salt-water then mixes with additional snow and ice around it diluting the amount of salt till the melting point rises again and combined with the cooling caused by the change of state will create new ice. The salt is best either when there's just a thin layer of snow or ice and you're close to the melting point already and can melt the ice entirely or if you need gravel to get some grip by melting it into the ice. And I'm aware of the wind. I live in Norway. We have conditions like that here most winters and we also film it often, the news etc. So I think I can judge that pretty well. It's not great weather, but it's definitely not that bad either. But like I said, you need spiked winter tyres for the ice. As for visibility. Bad for me would be seeing the hood of your car and perhaps half a hood in front of it.
