@askip9304 here the heck do you have that idea from? "The lower classes are treated horribly"? I'm in said lower class and I don't recognize anything in that post as accurate of what I'm observing...

@adam872 A lot of what works here will work elsewhere. But it's often a more complex set of traits of our counties interacting then just a few features. For instance, just copying our justice system and prison system without integrating a pretty decent welfare system as well isn't going to work as well. And a lot of our government efficiencies is based on trusting our bureaucrats to do their jobs instead of controlling every detail of what they're doing, something we've actually been getting worse at in recent years...

@alexanderrose1556 True to some degree. But I also think that the world can learn a lot from us. But it's not enough to try to make a exact copy of what we're doing. Instead you need to understand everything then make a modified version adapted to local needs in whatever country you're in.

@adam872 True, but usually not at the same scales. Nordic countries are generally fairly well run by people who genuinely are trying their best. Doesn't mean that they're always making the best decisions, as seen here... But that intention helps a lot.

@alexanderrose1556 I live in Norway, I know that it's more complicated then people often think. But I dissagree that trying to emulate us is a bad idea. But you need to understand the complex interactions, not just copy it blindly.

@ROIDDDDD Um... Norway has 0,07% of the worlds population, yet owns 1,4% of all the worlds company stocks in the sovereign wealth fund alone... Ignoring non-stock assets and assets in private hands... Norway is also relevant in a number of areas, providing telecommunications services to NASA and others, producing space tech for NASA and others, producing the designs for ARMs integrated graphics IP and much more besides. Norway is relevant, has a large number of well educated citizens and more then enough capabilities to become just as capable again if need be.

@alrighty4456 Yeah, we could have handled that one better.
