  1. Just had a look at the electoral system you guys have, it's even worse then the British one... No wonder that your politicans are... How should I put it... Not exactly... Aligned... With the interests of your average citizen... Switch to a more proportional system and you won't have the problem of the same two political parties dominating the country most of the time with voices for change or for that matter compromise solutions just being completely ignored in all of the political noise...

  3. ​​​ @ForeignManinaForeignLand Parliamentarianism is a good thing. First past the post, isn't. If Wales and Scotland could adopt the "alternative vote" (basically mixed member proportional for their local parliaments, same system as in Germany) while staying in the Kingdom it should be possible for you. I'm more inclined towards a fully proportional system myself like in my country. But MMP is often easier to switch to from a first past the post system, and there's presedens for it within the United Kingdom.

  5. ​ @ForeignManinaForeignLand 17:26 He's mixing up "de facto" and "de jure". Changing a law changes something "de jure". You then have to change things on the ground, a "de facto" change.

  7. Columbus and the slavery is a part of history and should not be hidden away, instead make sure that the historical context is abundantly clear.
