One thing that might be worth noting is that one of the guns installed in Norway by the Germans as a part of the Atlantic Wall actually ended up being used by us to shoot satellites into space if I don't remember wrong... (my memory isn't the world and I can't seem to find any documentation anywhere, but I could have sworn that a gun that used to be on a German ship was installed in the Atlantic wall and was then used to shoot research equipment into space. But a quick search results in nothing so far)
