  2.  @Japanesevideogamesdotcom  The petrodollar only had value because the rest of the west chooses to back the dollar. But it has been losing "market share" steadily every year for a long time now. As for those military bases... Yeah, they're draining so much resources from the US that it's unsustainable.

  3. 16:57 Americans have a bad habit of patting themselves on the back a bit too much and thinking that they're better than everyone else when in reality they're falling behind the rest of us in so many areas. The creativity and designs exists outside the US. Yes, this sets China back several years, but it's not particularly hard for them to overcome. And quite frankly, denying chips could be done to the US as easily as to China. That's part of why Biden wants to build up production capacity in the US. Europe controls the production of parts for the machinery used to create these chips. Asia the production itself. The US the capital, as for the patents and creativity it's spread out a bit but Europe and the US definitely holds the upper hand there. But all of that can be done just fine in China or anywhere else. It just would take a few years to set up. Swizz mirrors can be manufactured elsewhere, it just takes time. Dutch machines doing the litography etc can be manufactured elsewhere once you get the mirrors in question. Taiwanese and South Korean manufacturing can be replicated. And the technology stealing done by China isn't done due to lack of ingenuity but because it's faster and their starting position was behind us. The US hasn't stopped China. This is a speed bump, not a spike trap or a land mine. The US has only bought time. And given Chinas demographic that may be enough to give the west the edge.
