0:25 That "European fear" was always just in British minds... 0:45 The EU wasn't trying to make anything hard for the UK and was trying to be accomodating... The UK managed to make a mess on its own... You're talking as if the EU was trying to "punish" the UK, and that's simply not the case... The UK just had incompetent leaders that completely and utterly failed to see any other point of view then their own... 0:38 Plenty of "special deals" where offered... The problem is just that the UK continuously wanted mutually exclusive options that just could "never" work...

@pablofernandez3284 onestly it's annoying that they left because they helped holding the factions wanting unification in check... They where problematic in many ways. But they helped us smaller nations get more room for maneuver without worrying about losing sovereignty... Sometimes having a troublemaker is good... But my gosh do they have horrible leaders and a messed up electoral system...
