  1. Last time I checked the Mycenaeans and Minoans where two different cultures. Minoans are a naval power with little in the way of weaponry, mostly ceremonial weapons, open plan buildings with lots of windows, built in sewer system and reverence for the bull with bull jumping as part of their culture. We also haven't actually ever managed to translate their language. Myceneans on the other hand are a land power building strong defensive buildings, high walls and more deadly weapons and good shields and armor etc. We also understand their language. Don't get me wrong, they certainly did influence each-other. And the Myceneans claimed the old Minoan lands themselves later on. But they're not the same culture at all, and the culture that Egypt and the other superpowers of the time traded with was not the Myceneans but the Minoans. Also, the Minoans are the prime candidate for the origin of the story of Atlantis.
