  1. Regarding issues with cryptography... While spying and intercepted information is of course a concern, something that's probably more concerning to a lot of people is that if there's no secure crypography then modern commerce isn't safe anymore and electronic transfers of money can be intercepted... Secondly, even if you're not concerned about goverments spying on you, the holes left by goverment actions might leave you vulnerable to hostile third parties that may try to use information about you in ways that's harmfull to you. Insurance companies refusing to offer you health insurance due to patterns in your computer usage you're not even aware of. Companies refusing to give you a job because other companies hired to do background checks on you manage to gather statistics on you that unfairly make you seem less suited then you really are. Adverticing companies tricking you into using money you don't have on products you don't need and so one and so forth...
