  1. +Anthony Lobko Honestly I don't think either of those issues are the real ones. The very electoral system itself is the problem. Switch to a variant of proportional representation where you get more "teams" (parties) and you stop any single one from causing too much damage, get rid of gerrymandering by making the power of each party proportional to the number of voters instead of just a majority (meaning that parties that might not have a majority somewhere still gets their fair share of representation, be that Democrates, Republicans or third parties). And with more parties being viable you're less likely to have a single big party with a single party whip that's refusing to make compromises with anyone else. If they don't make compromises then someone else in a different party will in order to get their agenda across.
