+K FF No, how people are raised is only a small part of the issue. Everything from genes to larger structural trends like price differences, housing market (availability of a proper kitchen) and work situation (how many feel up for making a proper dinner after working two or even three jobs while raising kids?) etc. Cheap food that's ready to eat righ away after purchase just ends up winning out in such situations... Also, the mechanism for the brain to identify when we have had enough food is tuned for food that exists in nature aka things that either contains carbohydrates or fats and not both... So when processed food routinly contains both it bypasses the brains natural protection against overeating for the majority of people causing them to quite frankly lose controll, only a few people have evolved to deal with that...
