  1.  @mr.darkchocolate1674  First past the post systems mathematically leads to two major parties because people are punished for voting for anything else.

  2. Runoffs is arguably more democratic then first past the post. Even if the intention isn't. But a proportional system would of course be far preferable to either of them.
