Right, and where exactly should that meter start? You'd get different results if you start in the north or the south of Norway for instance using a meter as the precision of your measurements... Also, quite frankly parts of Norway are still rising after having been squeezed flat by the glaciers during the last ice age. The rock that was squeezed together still haven't expanded fully to its normal size again. And then there's climate change and therefore the change in amount of water on the planet. Not to mention that the distribution of that water also changes over time. For instance, do you measure during a full moon and a tide or at low tide? And gravity slowly changes in different places meaning that the amount of water being attracted to different places of earth changes. And the moon is on its way away from Earth changing the tides etc etc. Whatever you do there's simply no way in hell of getting an accurate repeatable result...

@LautaroTessi 100 meters is way to long to measure Norways coast accurately. 1 meter increments is probably the best. I'd prefer decimeters, but that would probably be too detailed to really be possible.

+Michael The BoomBringer Even if using a ruler of a set length you still get different results based on where you start (for instance what end of Norway since the length of the country isn't in exact ruler lengths so the position of the beginning and end of the ruler at each measurement shifts a bit depending on where you start...)
