@ronsullivan132 Parts should be available. If not from the company then from competitors. Make it legal to repair and modify anything. And move responsibility to the owner for safety and implement inspections and rigorous testing. If a car or truck or tractor or whatever fulfill the requirements of a yearly inspection then they're road legal, insurable etc. If not, they have to stay on the farm and used at the owners own risk there. As long as a modification still gives a vehicle the capabilities etc that are demanded by the law it's non of Deers business what people do with those things...

@NotEmiliaNatsuki Not necessarily. I mean, sure, the us government is extraordinarily poorly run by western standards. But governments can be done right just like companies can. Look up the nordic ones.

"Safety". If you're so concerned about safety to why not do what we do in Europe for our cars. Require regular inspections of cars that may run on our roads. Likewise require inspections of the farm equipment. If it has been modified then sure, you're no longer liable for anything involving that modification and it's not legal to use it in situations where others might be endangered. Then the farmer in question can choose to live with that risk or not as they choose. Also any other electronics should be repairable and modifiable too.
