@מ.מ-ה9ד The relationship between Israel and Palestine is very much relevant to the perception of Israel and Israelians in the Nordic region. The British Mandate for Palestine existed since 1918. And violence between Sionist and Palestinians started long before WW2 ended... The Irgun, Lehi, Haganah and Palmach all turned to violence. And Palestineans where targeted, just like the British authorities where. We're talking about the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s. I honestly don't give a toss about who where legally in charge of the area. The reality is that Sionists have been trying to drive off the original population of the whole area since the 1920s and that's a crime against humanity under international law. There's a reason why Norway recently recognized Palestine with the pre-1967 borders. In the early days of Israel when the country was a underdog we genuinely had a lot of sympathy for the country. Now... We're fighting antisemitism, but support for Israel the state is very low, even among the most pro-Israeli people from the Norwegian Bible belt people believe that Israel went way too far in this recent war. Those pro-israeli people from the bible belt will probably return to supporting Israel once relations with Palestine improves.

@purpleelemental3955 By comparison Norway and Sweden legalized same sex marriages in 2009...

@R3troguy Its nice to hear about someone there at least. :-) I wish more of you guys where here in the Nordics instead of Israel. We have more then enough both land and resources for many more people. And you wouldn't have to deal with the growth of Ultra Orthodox Judaism in Israel or conflict with the Palestinians. My only issue ever with any Jews is on two issues. circumcision of minors, and unquestioning support for the actions of the Israeli state (thankfully it seems like this isn't a majority position among our Jewish population)

@purpleelemental3955 The date matters. It says something about how hard snd how long the conservatives faught.

@SamAronow Any chance of a video with things you left out. Like Norways role in Israel acquiring nuclear technology?

@מ.מ-ה9ד Depends on what ideology you have in mind, there's several involved there. The anarchist ideology of some of them probably appealed. Same with the left leaning ones. Building something in the middle of nowhere and see it prosper definitely appealed. Driving of those that already lives in a place... Not so much... Trying to get settlements in the desert to work would probably still get support from here if the conflict level with Palestina can be reduced.

Yeah, I'm impressed with his pronounciation of letters like "å" as well as Norwegian pronounciation of letters in the latin alphabet and just correct pronunciations in general of everything Norwegian, Swedish and Danish to the best of my knowledge.

I think you meant "emigrate", not "immigrate"?

@BillClinton9-11 Jeez, what the heck are you thinking?!? If you're on the left and think that US support for Israel is somehow the fault of the Jewish population of the US you're dead wrong, it's evangelicals that's doing that, and without actually caring about Jews or anyone else, just because they want Armageddon to happen as described in the bible... If you're right wing and think Jews are behind some kind of evil world socialist world government or some kind of nonsense that's all nonsense conspiracy theories with antisemitic origins... Israel the state has done a great job of spreading their propaganda in the English speaking media, but overall the Jewish population of the world isn't really all that powerful outside of Israel... And hasn't been since the days of the Napoleonic war, back when some Jewish families did dominate the banking sector...

@feigdarfrost Are you a Trøndersk Jew? I know I have some Jewish blood far back in my family.

Yeah, some people thinks that people thinking differently can somehow "infect" kids... Instead of realizing that it's good for kids to get as many different perspectives as possible... In Sweden that was Jews... In the US it's book burning s d firing people who have alternative sexualities... (I know of several people in the US BDSM community who have lost custody of their kids and/or lost jobs involving children, despite them not involving kids at all in any way, shape or form, I believe trans people and gay people have the same issues, although at least gay people have some legal protections now)

As someone living in Norway I'd love it if you could cover Falstad. About 50 of the prisoners in that prison camp where Jewish.
