  1. I'm kind of sorry for her. Like, sure, she probably makes more then she would back at home. But I don't know... I don't think the pay is all that good relatively speaking. So she can't easily go home to visit. And while I don't know how working as a teacher compares to working in the US in general my impression is that the US tends to have longer hours then say Europe. And since the social structure is so completely different (you don't just walk down the street to a local community to a community hub in the same way that you would in other less car dependant countries) it might be a bit harder to integrate. On the other hand the Philippines is Christian. So there's that. And she might find some parallels with Americans on that note, since the religious community tends to be more important in an Americans life then say in Europe. And also, I suspect that it might be easier to get a work visa in the US then in Europe for someone from outside those two places. I don't know. I hope she feels like she can integrate well and that things works out for her. But if she isn't happy long term I do hope she'll give Europe a try. The languages are different. But I think she'd like some of the European countries. Germany isn't bad for instance. Or one of the nordic countries. Although our food would probably be a bit on the... bland... side for her taste...
