Yeah, I do want a rotary engine, but not the wankel engine. Liquid pistons has a better design and would be amazing as a range extender for a plug in hybrid.

@DaroffApFire Actually, look up liquid piston rotary engine. It can run on multiple fuel types, and it's getting rid of the issues with previous rotaries that was causing the pollution issues... I honestly think that is the best approach out there. And I'd love for a multi-fuel rotary engine hybrid car. Rotaries are also way more compact for a given power output then most piston based engines, so it's perfect as a range extender, giving that capability without adding too much engine weight to drag around when in electric mode.

@alphaxfang It depends. The Rotary may have poor efficiency in terms of fossile fuel mode. But it adds less weight to drag around and takes up less space then alternative range extenders probably does...
