6:42 It's Norway. We have a nationwide tradition of watching dinner for one on the evening before Christmas eve. Edit: I didn't know that it was popular over the whole Germanic speaking world. The difference is just the day in Norway. In other countries like Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Switzerland, New Zealand etc it's on new years eve apparently...

@carloandreaguilar5916 In Norway the tradition is for it to be aired on the evening before Christmas eve, not on new years eve. I'm not quite sure why it's so beloved here. But its humor definitely works well in the germanic world.

@warrenrandall6936 Part of it is also that it's a universal family tradition for the whole Germanic speaking world. Most people have grown up sitting down watching it with their parents etc. So there's more involved then just the sketch itself.

@Quzinqa1122 "Grevinnen og hovmesteren" in Norwegian. :-)

@jurgnobs1308 It is for someone from a family that emigrated before they where born.

@jurgnobs1308 "Dictator Charles" You are aware that we still have monarchies here in Scandinavia too right? Are you calling our monarchs "dictators" too? What about the German monarchs still honoured in several parts of Germany? Do you know what a constitutional monarchy even is? Look it up. Because of constitutional monarchies the surviving monarchies are actually more democratic on average then the republics, including Germany. So perhaps ir would be a good idea to refrain from showing your ignorance and bigotry quite this openly?

Hum, many of these differences are interesting. Btw, regarding sex-ed. I live in Norway. While most kids probably get their sex-ed in school there's a few municipalities in Norway where even kids in kindergarten gets sex-ed. Meaning that they get sex-ed from the age of 5. Most of our sex-ed is probably focused around the age of 12-13 though although.

@sebastianhoyer7161 Norway had good drivers like Germany, we actually have worse climate conditions and roads, yet we have far lower rates of causalities on our roads, in part because we have far lower speed limits in Norway then you guys do in Germany... You can definitely do better then you're currently doing.

22:25 I live in Norway, and to me, yeah it sounded German. I'd just assume that she's talking too fast for me to pick anything up rather then it being wrong if you get my meaning. 30:35 I don't mind it not being in my native language. But dubbing really rubs me the wrong way. I tend to prefer English subtitles for most things unless it's in a nordic language, then Norwegian subtitles are preferable.

18:23 20 km/h over the speed limit is enough to lose your license in Norway and may even land you in jail, and 10 is more then enough to get a huge fine.

Regarding the crime rate, thanks for addressing that misinformation. 14:10 Here in Norway paying for the restrooms is rare, however we kind of have a culture where you're supposed to use money there if you use the toilet, so if you're in a gas station then buy some snack or something, or in a McDonalds etc then perhaps buy a french fries, just something small. So we kind of do pay for it indirectly in that sense.

3:08 While the sketch is British the recording is apparently German.

Most of these are the same in Norwegian as in German. Some minor differences thought.

If you guys like US muscle cars check out some of the events in Sweden. They actually have more US muscle cars then the US does.

@@KennyBennyRabbit Or the 23rd of Desember if you'd like to follow the Norwegian tradition instead.
1
@rikardottosson1272 Not really, once something is such a strong tradition it actually ends up being a reason why people switch to that channel. Many people might watch other channels on the 23rd of December here in Norway but switch over to watch this sketch then switch again afterwards. Because this sketch is the most important part of their traditions for that day.

@@KennyBennyRabbit Sounds good. :-D
