@matsv201 nods Both countries have the bulk of their population in the south. But yeah, it's about as far from Oslo to the northern tip of Norway as it is from Oslo to Rome... And that's as the crow flies. If you actually look at travel time in a car with the terrain and low speed limits it's far longer in Norway with travel time from the southernmost point in Norway to the Russian border (if you exclude routes crossing through Sweden or Finnland) you'd take almost as long driving through Norway from south and northwards as through Australia or the US from east to west despite Norways actual lenght being far shorter.
