  2. In Norway it costs between 3 000 and 3 500 USD worth on average from what I understand to get a drivers license. It includes first aid, driving in the dark, on slippery roads, ice, cities, rural driving on single lane two way roads with passing pockets, tests of reaction times in case of animals or humans entering the road suddenly without warning while driving on slippery roads etc. Of course stick driving. And did I mention that speeding 12 mph over the speed limit in some cases can land you in jail and cost you your license?

  3. Regarding safety... Well, Norway has a population of about 5 million. In 2021 we had 87 people dying on the roads in total. 7 pedestrians and 2 bikers. Compare that with some US states with a population of about 5 million.
