  1.  @Arvipa.  I don't own a car personally, preferring to save money by being a pedestrian and using public transportation, but... They're doing just fine in the cold. Cold batteries isn't any worse then warm ones, they just take longer to release their power, so you either have to manage with less acceleration or wait till they heat up (something they'll honestly do naturally from driving, although most modern electric cars also have temperature regulation for the batteries, those use power, but it's not a huge problem, just make sure that you have a heating pump to heat the car so you won't feel cold)

  2.  @Arvipa.  Here in Norway 4WD is definitely popular, but we tend to prefer smaller cars, not off road ones or pickups. And electric cars are extremely popular.
