Oh boy did you kick a can of worms here... As for my own main objection to this mess is that the Nazi party has its roots in the Völkisch nationalism movement and that it does not originate in socialism at all even if they used those terms. In essence its roots where right wing but for a number of reasons there was attempts at trying to merge this form of Nationalism with non-marxist socialism, an attempt backed by the upper classes in Germany as it was seen as a counter to the growth of real socialism and communism in Germany (there had after all been coup attemps made by the communists not that long before Hitler came to power). Neither the Nazies themselves nor the organizations that where the root of the party like the "Freier Arbeiterausschuss für einen guten Frieden" where ever actual socialist. At most they included a minimum of socialist policies needed to try to attract the lower classes (the real socialists) to their ranks. But ultimately it failed at doing so with most socialists rejecting the party and its ideology. Socialists and communists tended to se wars with other nations as ultimately wars between the upper classes of said nations at the cost of the working class in those nations and where therefore extremely sceptical towards external wars, instead favoring a revolution, a war within the nation between the classes in order to gain controll for the lower classes. And fine, I'll accept that the Nazi party and their predecessors did include certain elements of socialist policies in their program. But socialism just wasn't ever their roots and calling them socialists are like calling anarchists for socialists except worse. It's simply a completely different ideology with a completely different starting point.
