Doothe She could offer 8 core Zen at 800 and still make Intel look too expensive if Zen matches or beats Intel.

Onion Rings I'm currently using Windows 10 Probably and to me it's bad... Only reason I'm currently using it as main OS is game support and that the dual boot Linux distro I'm using is having issues I've year to finish troubleshooting. Once I can afford Zen I'm thinking of running Windows in a virtual machine inside Linux for gaming with PCI-e pass through. In some cases you can get away with that and still get more then 95% of the original gaming performance in Windows. I don't remember the exact performance that guy got... But was impressive. 98%? Some such.

Nathan Hamman I know of those rumors. And I don't think any of those price rumors hold water at all... 8 core Zen at 800, or at the lowest 599. And that's before taxes...

White Tiger Gaming A AMD hex core is so far behind a modern Intel hex core in performance that the price difference can be explained by that alone. If you want to compare AMDs hex cores with Intel you should look at something older from Intel, where their prices are also more comparable.

As for the rest of the comments, I don't have time right now, but I'll look at them later I think. =) Later all. ^^

HOkayson There's more to an OS then you having problems that you're aware of or not... There is privacy issues and security issues. Both can be fixed if you put in the work, but I prefer to have both protected from the start.

Let's see. first of all, neither Kaby Lake nor Zen requires Windows 10. Windows 10 is just the only windows version where Microsoft has bothered to implement Kaby Lake and Zen support and since all versions of Windows are closed source Intel and AMD can't add support themselves. That's not the case with Linux where you can already find Zen specific code in the kernel submitted by AMD. And I assume that the same is true for Kaby Lake and Intel. As for AMD fans not being willing to buy a 1 k USD CPU... Trust me we are. However no one in their right mind thinks that Zen will sell that expensive. The predictions lie between 900 and 250... Personally I'm betting 800, that's 200 less then the Intel chip with equivalent performance, and 200 more then the cheapest cases of a Intel chip with 2 cores less. However I can imagine them sell as low as 600 on sales to bite into the Intel hex core sales. Any suggestions about it being sold for 550 or lower seems like wishful thinking in my eyes for a product performing on par with a 1 k USD part. Only way that would happen is if a major security issue was discovered or a major bug causing serious code errors in typical run software. We have no reason to believe that.
