No, it don't have hyperthreading, it have *SMT*. Hyperthreading is Intels specific implementation of SMT. As for using Nvidia in this thing... Not really that good an idea. While it is labled as RoG it's really more of a prosumer card then a consumer one, Asus just don't have a good brand for this market segment so they went with RoG despite this not really being a good fit for the brand. And for prosumers I believe the 580 is probably a better choice then the Nvidia cards close to it in price points like the 1060 and 1070. The 580 actually have a ton more double precision floating point performance then the 1070 (the 580 got 413.73 GFLOPS Double precision while the 1070 got 180.72 GFLOPS) The 580 also got roughly the same single precision power as the 1070 (the 580 beats the 1070 with ca 0,01 TFLOP single precision performance) The only thing the 1070 got going for it is that it can run CUDA nativly without recompiling it with AMDs tools (something that requires you to have the source code). Also, there's certain workloads that favours Nvidias deeper pipelines more then AMDs wide ones. But seriously, even when you look at power consumption in terms of compute-performance pr watt AMD is actually beating the 1070 in many workloads. They're only really falling behind in DX11 and OpenGL gaming where Nvidia has been reigning supreme for years... It's really a shame that a prosumer card like the 480 and 580 are competing with a lower end product like the 1060 instead of where it belongs with the 1070 just because of the dominant APIs in the gaming market... AMD should really be getting so much more money for that product then they are.
