 @J_Lag It has nothing to do with distance. Europe is bigger in terms of both population and land then the US. And the Scandinavian mile is a 100% metric unit representing 10 km.

@J_Lag A Norwegian mile is exactly 10 km and it's roughly 6 American mile.

@hnorrstrom We definitely use inches for computer and TV screens. But I've never seen it for smaller things like phones. Oo There mm is usually used in my experience. And instead of diagonal it's the length and width that matters.

@bruceli9094 Who measures phones in inches? Oo I've never seen that. I'll admit that I have seen TVs and computer monitors labeled with inches... And I think woodworkers sometimes still use inches in some jobs here... But only when the level of precision is literally low enough for their own hand to do the job...
