@arvyno7129 The problem really isn't the public transportation, the problem isn't there but with the city planning itself. Even if you paid 10X what Europe does in public transportation pr Citizen you'd still have a worse system because of the zoning.

@goranjosic Thank you for being a voice of reason.

@PaulValickas He never was... But right wing people think he is, in part due to him having a slight left wing tendency...

@Jack-pf6lv WW2. Denmark and Norway was occupied by Germany. Norways goverment managed to flee and operate in exile, Denmark was taken before they had a chance to do so. The Faeroe islands and Iceland was invaded and occupied by the UK. The occupation of Iceland was transferred to the UK in order to free up troops for the war effort since the US wasn't at war with Germany yet and the UK was at this point in time. I'm a little bit more vague about the history in Greenland, but I'm guessing that it was probably also occupied by the allies, that or said diplomat gave them permission without asking Greenlanders or Danes in the homeland... After the war the allied gave Iceland independence. But the Faeroe islands and Greenland remained under Danish rule. Perhaps the goal of that Danish diplomat?

Germany, essentially East Germany went through pretty much the same type of surveillance. It shapes a peoples mindset.

6:08 "This guy". I wish you had said "This Norwegian guy" because small countries like Norway gets forgotten among all the big countries and their empires all to often. And he's a pretty big deal to us. Also, we reached the south pole first because news arrived about the north pole being reached while the guy that reached the south pole was preparing a expedition to the north pole, so change of plans, suddenly he was going southwards instead. So yeah, we can't compete with literal empires in military might. But when it comes to traverse arctic landscapes we're every bit as though as them, if not more so. So we did our best to complete for the poles etc. And today we're competing in every skiing sports for similar reasons. A undercurrent here is actually defense. As in "we might not have the army sizes, but the troops we do have are tougher than yours up here" kind of thing.

Regarding the whole steam and progress thing. It's actually the other way around. The Norwegian team got there first on a sail powered ship, not a steam one and using ancient Inuit wisdom, not modern technology and brute force... Not that the Norwegian team didn't innovate at all. The ship was especially designed to survive being frozen in for instance.

15:14 We call them "Rype" in Norwegian and it's common to hunt them here too. Our ancestors hunted seals, but they're not really on the menu anymore on this side of the pond. Having ice to hunt on makes them a lot easier to catch. 31:05 I think that a lot of people feel something similar here. Eating something you have acquired yourself is special, be that through hunting or farming or fishing.

The Norwegian ones have been controversial. Norway has traditionally had a policy of not hosting US bases or nuclear weapons but being a good ally for the US through NATO. We try to keep a balance between the US and Russia that allows a friendly relationship with Russia (we're the only country bordering Russia that has never been at war with them). But under the latest conservative led government during Trumps presidency (interesting correlation, don't you think?) This policy has finally been changed... It doesn't help that Russia is acting more andd more aggressively...

3:34 You're missing the point when you think that this is about fear. It's about nuclear simply not being the solution and being part of the non-renewable problem. While yes, a modern nuclear power plant with all of the regulations that modern governments have for them is actually safe it requires so much money etc to make it profitable that you need guaranteed purchases to make it make sense. And while yes, keeping current nuclear plants running actually through the lifetime of the plant ends up being less polluting then even some renewable sources once you factor in the pollution needed to build new ones and keep them running (fuel etc) as well as to get rid of the waste you end up with a pretty bad result. Especially if you factor in that they make it less profitable to run renewable alternatives that we know are the future (due to the guaranteed purchases), and therefore they hold us back... In terms of radiation there's actually more radiation from a coal power plant... 8:40 You guys forgot about the British one. Thankfully that one didn't lead ro deaths either. But honestly that was mostly by chance. 12:52 Like I said, if you know the truth it's not the deaths from nuclear that you worry about, but the deaths from fossil fuels continuing to exist due to nuclear power making renewable less viable. And it's not like extraction and refinement isn't polluting and dangerous too...

6:05 Actually, ancient Egypt also had a channel allowing navigation between the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. Not as direct as in modern times, and it fell into disrepair with time. Not sure if it ended up unusable under the Greeks or the Romans... But for a brief time you could navigate there. Also, even when there wasn't a canal people tan caravans between the Nile river and the Red Sea.

@@cavachoncx777Of all the situations where that is... Problematic... To say, this might be one of the worst... I get that to you the solution to all problems might be your religion, but when it has literally been used to justify atrocities in a war it might not be the best of ideas to bring said religion up when one of the victims of said war is talking about their experiences...

@fabr5747 I doubt that Le Pen will win anytime soon...

@@simonahristovskaour fundamental understanding of history is flawed... This isn't about "the west" trying to break up Yugoslavia. It simply wasn't sustainable as a country to begin with after Titos death. I recommend that you look up a video on the channel "History Scope" about the breakup of Yugoslavia. It gives a pretty good overview of the countrys history from beginning to end, covering the politics that lead to the country breaking up.

@fabr5747 Again, I doubt it. I don't even think he'd make it to the second round of the presidential election. My guess is that either the top socialist representative or the Republican patty candidate will run against Le Pen next time... When Macron won the first round last time with 27,5% of the votes the left wing candidate with the most votes was Jean-Luc Mélenchon who got 21,95% That's not a huge margin. I believe that he would win against Le Pen in a second round after everything that Macron has done.
