If I don't remember wrong a Norwegian chemist once hypothesized that part of the cause of the world trade center falling as fast as it did when the planes crashed into it was the aluminum in the planes melting in the intense heat of the fuel burning and leaking down into the water from the sprinkle system causing explosions weakening the structure of the building.
