Stop having a single president, and a two party first past the post system spreading the power and ensuring that no faction within the current parties are left without confrontation from people still respected by said factions. Right now you guys have two parties that have nearly nothing to lose as coming second in the election is pretty much worthless in the US. And speaking out against others in the same party just isn't a option unless you want someone even "worse" in power (from the point of view of the members of said parties). Change the system. You'll get less violence and conflict then.
