  7. For goodness sake, do not try to stop this problem by banning things. It is not so much direct education about knife crime but about respect for others and the law. The other thing is the general normalisation of violence in many places. Maybe the kids need to visit prisons and experience for a few hours what they are like.

  10. We need to start doing what the French have been for years and promote sailing and boating in general (plaisance is the term they use I believe) to ordinary people. This has boosted their economy enormously.

  32.  @jct4418  There are many different circumstances where recovery of bodies would be appropriate but at the end of the day, it is down to the family. You also have to remember that it was quite likely that his body was torn apart by the impact.

  43.  @frankwilcockson3335  I am not sure where to start when it comes to learning things from the French, having just returned from a 2 month holiday over there. Even our two grandchildren (11 & 13) who we had with us th first 4 weeks were impressed by the French way of life and living.

Accountants are killing the BBC by trying to appeal to a bigger and bigger audience through dumbing down and being "on trend" when historically they produced high quality programmes that appealed to a smaller audience and were very proud to do that. In fact that was the theme of some of their self promotion.
