Gaming is for geeks and teenage boys who think it is cool to hide away in their bedrooms when they worry about being caught watching porn by their mums.

@andreivaughn1468 I find what some of these games seem to promote not such a good influence and I see most of them as part of the "dumbing down" process that is ruining the imagination of kids from an early age. What is wrong with doing "real" things these days? Our grand children are with us on holiday in France at present. The 13 year old lad is the classic gamer, tucked away in his cabin getting all worked up over his games and lacking enthusiasm for anything else. His 11 yo sister is the opposite, totally enthusiastic about everything she does, catching crabs and fish from the boat, helping with the sails and ropes. In the water and swimming at every opportunity. About the only time the lad isn't buried in his phone is when we take them beating for a local pheasant shoot and there is no phone signal and they have to keep up with us walking 10 odd miles over rough terrain. I even wonder if the gaming thing is part of the scheme to keep people at home and make them not want to do anything worthwhile?

@andreivaughn1468 OK, you are right about me being old and I would love suggest I played computer games before you were born. I have been known to play against my step sons at various shootem-up games because they know I am a very good shot with all sorts of real guns but I don't really like shooting at "people", even if they are only imaginary on a screen (this is all part of the imunising against violence that seems to be happening today- just think about those lads who stabbed another one a while back and how they were using the sort of language from the games).
