  1. I was once asked where I was from by someone I think was South African when I was on holiday in East Anglia. No problem whatsoever in answering him although because I doubted he would have heard of the small village I grew up in, said near the local town (Watford). Turned out he had recognised my oddly distinctive local accent which many people would not even detect, and said do you mean XXX. He was spot on! I guess that accent, or more accurately a way of speaking has faded since I moved away.

  2. Working to improve the violence? Do they need to have it improved given how much of it seems to be going on?

  3. I wonder if she only works with black women who suffer abuse from white men? Or, is she actually having to do this due to the violent behaviour of her own men?
