  1. Technology and over nurturing kids seems to be the biggest issue. When our grandchildren could not charge their iPhones or not get WIFI for a few days on my yacht they changed a lot. When you think in my day, kids could get hurt playing down the local recreation ground and it taught them a lot. Nowadays the councils are frightened some entitled parents will sue them if little Johnny scratches his knee.

  2. Apparently somewhere in Germany the councils are experimenting with playgrounds where kids can actually get hurt and really learn about risk and danger and why you need to follow certain rules.
