  2. I bought my first place in the early 80s when mortgage rates were very high. When I described it to a gen z colleague at work he could not believe anyone would want to buy a tiny studio flat on theedge of Luton. His view of a first time buy was a 3 bed semi somewhere reasonable and there you have the very reason for the mess that the country is in, unrealistic expectations and entitlement.
