The Bournemouth incident sounded very much like it may have been caused by yobs on jet skis knowing how they generally behave.

@davidp4456 Having sailed along that area often, although not very close inshore, I am not aware of any particularly strong tides. I would need to study my marine charts of the bay and to know if it was spring tides or not to get an accurate picture of what might have happened in terms of a possible rip tide. What I do know is that there is no real history of rip tides in that area otherwise there would have been previous incidents there like there are on many Cornish beaches.

@AJ-yw5zy The names were published very quickly and to be honest are completely irrelevant to what happened there. It could just be a case of Darwinism with a bunch of "youths" being stupid like many more seem to be these days.

@eternalele9309 I did not witness the attack but read an early eyewitness statement that described the assailant as being black and dressed in dark clothing, carrying a rucksack or similar and struggling with someone. Turns out that was a pretty accurate description. I know some other accounts just describe a man carrying out the attack which shows just how colourblind many people are.
