😅All those worthless degrees are the product of the entitled generation who thought doing an apprenticeship was too working class for them. There are no more real apprenticeships (with a few very noteworthy exceptions) these days. What makes things even worse is that there are few real experts left in such important industries like (mechanical) engineering to learn from like I did as an apprentice. I was never really given the chance to pass on my 45 years experience and knowledge of my industry, much as I tried to, before I retired. Even when I warned my boss I was going to be off before long, nothing was done.

@rorysmith2415 You don't learn skills at university, you learn how to pass tests and often get taught by people with little real world experience. The old technical colleges taught skills in combination with proper apprenticeships.

@rorysmith2415 I guess all the people who worked on Covid and the vaccines went to Uni? Do you think nurses need to go to uni to learn their trade? You can't teach caring and compassion.
