@jacobrivers5728 So what are we allowed to call such people this week? The truth is that no one is excluded from the countryside these days, there is even good access for disabled people in many places. I know lots of British people who would never want to walk in the countryside but it's nothing to do with them feeling excluded.

@jjs3287 If you want to get in touch with the people who live and work in the countryside, try going beating with the local pheasant shoot. You get to see the real world through the eyes of people who understand it.

@jjs3287 Fair enough - at least you have a little more understanding of the real world than many do. Not all game shoots are run badly, certainly not the one I help with. And by the way, I don't think many doves get shot during pigeon control from my own experience.

@tonymccaul7159 I would counter that with a request for proof that there is such a thing. It is all about perception and that is not easy to prove.

@richardoverthrow1358 Funny you should say that. I was born and spent the first 24 years of my life in a group of 6 cottages quite some way from the nearest villages. It was however on a main road and across the valley from the main railway line. It was never quiet and didn't get dark due to the street lights. My first flat was on the edge of Luton. The street lights went off at 12 pm and it was really quiet. I took ages to get used to it!
