Or how about a movie about the Barbary pirates raiding southern England and Ireland and taking slaves, most of whom were never seen again (bumped off when too old to work)?

@alanmarr3323 I am not sure, but I cannot recall us (allegedly) taking huge numbers of slaves from the Indian sub-continent. Was it because too many people from the region were benefitting from us being there?

In the early days, I would not have wanted to go up against determined warriors with spears and bows, armed only with a single shot flint lock!

@hadge9628 And you would have to include one quite disabled person in an important position. Just realised, that would actually be accurate (unless he was very tanned).

@bazzatheblue I love it when you people say "your ancestors " as if 100% of the population were involved. Truth is, very few if any ordinary people benefited and many were treated little better than slaves. This was happening long after slavery was abolished in the UK. A close relative was transported to Tasmania for a petty crime leaving his family destitute.

@kaysmith8992 I would have thought something along the lines of "What you are about to see might actually appreciate the history of the world and that many people claiming oppression were oppressed by the kin"

Colm Keegan There are those who actually benefitted greatly (many more than you might think!) under those two rulers. A good friend of My Mrs wore that nice dark uniform in the late 30's as a teen. In her late nineties now, she is as fit as a fiddle and still regularly swims in the sea all year! Thousands of others had holidays most people in the UK could only dream of.
