Who is interested (genuinely) in the pain of others other than virtue signallers and physcopaths?
5
That is way above 99% of people who worship many channels on here!

@hosmerhomeboy The biggest concern that all decent & honest people have is about how much "more" can be gained honestly and decently. The concept of "to every man his worth" is what enters into it. Do you honestly believe those who tend to be branded the "Elite" these days should use all their power and money just to make more and to control anyone with less than them?

@rtg5881 oh dear, that is why I am a Libertarian!

Dear Buragi, it looks like your comment in reply to one of mine has "got lost". I can tell you that a great many people on YouTube do seem to worship channels on both sides of the fence from animal rights nutters who hang on every word of some vegan ranter to out and out merchants of hatred who believe everything someone who purports to share their views. There are many who challenge or question the views of those on either side of the fence with honest reasoning and arguments.

@evilemperorzurg9615 You want to watch yourself saying a tiger isn't sentient - that will up set the animal rights looines!
2
Just ask Trump or Adolf!
2
@redstarling5171 Animal Farm, through and through?
2
@Luke Perkins One of the whole concepts of true libertarianism is that there are no rules as such, the idea being that behaviour is moderated by what other people accept. Sadly it is the one thing that would cause it to fail like all other "isms" because of people.
2
@buffuniballer You are quite right in what you say, but sadly, most people who make great fortunes are far from ethical or moral, even if they started out that way. As you say it is all about power and how that corrupts and money gives you power and then greed takes over. At the end of the day, it is us humans and our nature that messes things up for everyone.

Never read so much pseudo scientific bull in a long while!
1
@hosmerhomeboy So what drives a multi millionaire to want to become a billionaire?
1
@tonygrowley5275 Sadly there are few countries like that these days. I tend to think that the Scandinavian countries seem to be the better ones when it comes to that.
1
@tonygrowley5275 How do you rate the politics in those countries? I am well aware that things are changing in those places, or rather change is being forced on them and I really hope it doesn't destroy the good things they have.
1
@tonygrowley5275 Some of what has been happening in Denmark is not good. Their way of life is being abused by people from outside who don't share their values and culture.

Are we all not in some way or other? Why does everyone want the biggest TV or fastest car these days? Is that not about envy or as the 10 commandments would put it "coveting"?
1
Is condemning the "Elite" for how they are running the world for their own gains envy? Who in their position would do any different? (well, actually, a TRUE socialist might, but that is another can of worms!).
1
@seabreeze4559 Where does that fit in with envy? Or are you suggesting that some people are envious of the pleasure that others get from sex so they condemn them for what they do?
1
@rassilkrishnan3120 In saying that you could never see envy as being a positive, you seem to be going against the principles of capitalism which relies upon people continually wanting more because their neighbours have it. Why would you want to buy a bigger TV just because you have seen your neighbours one when you should be proud to accept that the one you have is much more appropriate to the size of your front room?
1
When you see the envy and resentment directed at the so called "Elite" being blamed for all the ills of the worlds in some quarters, how does that fit in?
1
@rassilkrishnan3120 Pride has it's place, but am I truly proud that I could buy my large yacht with cash because I worked hard and saved my money? No - I am glad I did so, but not what you would call proud of it, and I was not driven by envy but by desire.
1
@sailormatlac9114 Personally I feel that some forms of pride do have a place - be proud that your town is pleasant to live in or something good that you have done, but being proud of something you cannot change or influence is not so good.
1
Is Libertarianism right or left, or is it just correct?
1
@juliantheapostate8295 So, in many ways my third option?
1
Compassion is for sissies and girls!
1
@SuperDeadseagull I have no idea if what you say is true nor any way of proving it either way (without relying on possibly biased info from either "side"). I do know however, that power corrupts and tends not to be so much about left or right but the person with the power.
1
Ask Maggie about that one - Oh sorry, ding dong the witch is dead.
1
@whatisaman689 Are you talking about the royal family or the Isle of Wight?
1
@whatisaman689 Or just the upper class in general?
1
Was there not something about "To every man his worth" at one time?
1
@allanmonroe692 Do you know why many great ideas fail? Because of greedy people who want power.
1
@markzuckergecko621 Just watch some German TV to see how much they love slapstick! Mr Bean is a real hit out there!
1
@hosmerhomeboy I guess that is much like those who rant about the mythical "elite" in many ways?
1
@AnimaVox_ peterson one step from being a flat earth happy clapper. I used to be interested in what he had to say, but have become increasingly aware that he is much like Adolf, playing on people's fears to spread his own ideals
1
@AnimaVox_ Totally agree with you on the laying off of politics, it is far too divisive. Neither side is 100% right nor wrong. It is human nature (very sadly) for some people to use a good idea to their own advantage and turn it bad. Animal Farm is the classically quoted example of something that started out with good intentions but got seized by the corrupt and greedy. I suspect that Orwell's pigs were not really what many take them to be these days, given some of his views, but were "would be farmers" if you see what I mean. The fact that he chose pigs rather than, for instance a shire horse as a "Leader" is a clue to me.
1
@markzuckergecko621 That is what makes the middle ground (Libertarianism) the best choice. There will never be equality of outcome, but when the "rules" are made in a way that means playing by the same rules really isn't doing so, then the outcome is never likely to get close to "fair".
1
@Luke Perkins Thank you for that very clear explanation. I guess I must be pretty much a libertarian as I believe that peace is the only way for all to truly prosper amongst other ideals you describe. I cannot see that it could be categorized as left or right but a fusion of the better parts of both.
