  11. What has ruined the BBC and led to the dumbing down is the fact that it is now run by accountants. All they understand is numbers, in this case it translates to viewing figures and potential sales of programmes. Not long ago it was proper public service broadcasting with lots of minority interest programmes made by people who knew what they were talking about. Even the whacky comedy like Monty python was in this category. I remember their "adverts" explaining this to the thick British public some of whom would be saying why do programmes about fishing or farming, we want more football or other rubbish. It is all largely down to the stupidity of the masses and the money driven system we live in.

Would you back a campaign to give you the option of not paying for adverts on just about everything you can imagine?
